Brief for Graduating Students - ULAB's 7th Convocation
Dear Graduating Students,
Congratulations on your graduation! Please read the following very carefully. It has important information for you regarding the upcoming Convocation.
Date of the Convocation:
Tuesday, 7 May 2024
Convocation Pack:
You will receive the convocation pack containing the following items:
- Gown
- Invitation Card
- Guest Pass for your guests (if applicable)
- Gala Pass (for you only)
- Snacks Coupon (for you and your guests)
- Dinner Coupon (for you only).
- Bus Pass (for you only)
- Gift items
Gown:
You will receive a black gown and a colored sash (undergrad) or hood (graduate). Your mortarboard cap has a tassel that matches your sash. The color indicates in which department you studied. All the items are placed in a carrying bag.
- Please iron your gown and sash before Convocation, if necessary.
- After Convocation, you MUST return your gown, sash as well as the mortarboard. You will not receive your official degree certificate unless all items are returned. You may, however, keep your tassel & leather degree cover as a souvenir.
The Convocation Pack will be distributed as per the following schedule:

Invitation:
You will receive invitation for:
- Yourself
- Your guests (if applicable)
You are to bring the Invitation Card and your guests to bring the Guest Pass to the Convocation venue and produce these during the entry to the convocation hall.

Dhaka Bypass Expressway, Sector 4, Purbachal.
Transportation:
Shuttle bus service will be available only for the graduating students as per the following schedule. You will have to show the Bus Pass before boarding the bus. You will be required to board the trip that is specified on the Bus Pass:

Dress Code:
a. Male Students: Full sleeve shirt with elegant color trouser and shoe.
b. Female Students: Salwar & kameez OR Sharee.
Note: T-shirt, Polo shirt, Jeans and Sandal or Chappal are not allowed.
Snacks:
Snacks will be provided for both students and guests after the first session. You are requested to collect your snacks packet from the snack’s distribution booth.
Dinner Packet:
A packet of Chicken Biryani with beverage will be given at the end of the Gala Program.
Food Stall:
There will be a number of Food Stalls in the convocation venue with a few selected items. You or your guests can buy and consume the food items available therein On Payment.
Program Summary:
09:30 am Students’ arrival
10:00 am Guests take their seats
10.05 am Registered Graduates take their seats
10.50 am Faculty procession enters the hall
10.55 am Chancellor’s procession enters the hall
11.00 am Formal program begins
12.10 pm End of First Session; followed by Snacks
01:15 pm Second Session begins (presentation of certificate folder)
Gala Event:
Each graduate will receive one Gala Pass for the gala event.
You must bring the Gala Pass with you. No one will be admitted without the invitation card.
Gala Flowchart:
6:30 pm Opening
6:45 pm Performance by ULABians
7:30 pm Band Performance
9:10 pm End of Gala event.
