Brief for Graduating Students - ULAB's 8th Convocation

Dear Graduating Students,

Congratulations on your graduation! Please read the following very carefully. It has important information for you regarding the upcoming Convocation.

Date of the Convocation: Tuesday, 28 October 2025

Convocation Pack:

You will receive the Convocation pack containing the following items:

• Gown
• Invitation Card
• Guest Pass for your guests (if applicable)
• Gala Pass (for you only)
• Snacks Coupon (for you and your guests)
• Dinner Coupon (for you only).
• Gift items

Gown: 

You will receive a black gown and a colored sash (undergrad) or hood (graduate). Your mortarboard cap has a tassel that matches your sash. 

The color indicates which department you studied. All the items are placed in a carrying bag.

• Please iron your gown and sash before the Convocation, if necessary.
• You need not to return the gown, tassel & leather cover- please keep these as souvenirs.

The Convocation Pack will be distributed as per the following schedule:

Invitation:

You will receive invitation for:

    1. Yourself

    2. Your guests (if applicable)

 You are to bring the Invitation Card, and your guests are to bring the Guest Pass to the Convocation venue and produce these during the entry to the Convocation Hall.

Dress Code:

a.     Male Students: Full sleeve shirt with elegant color trouser and shoes.

b.     Female Students: Salwar & kameez OR Sharee.

 Note: T-shirt, Polo shirt, Jeans, and Sandal or Chappal are not allowed. 

Snacks:

Snacks will be provided for both students and guests after the first session. You are requested to collect your snacks packet from the food distribution booth.

 Dinner Packet:

Takeaway dinner will be served at the end of the Gala Program from the food distribution booth. from the food distribution booth.

Program Summary:

10:00 am          Students’ arrival

10:05 am          Guests take their seats

10.05 am          Registered Graduates take their seats

10.50 am          Faculty procession enters the hall

10.55 am          Chancellor’s procession enters the hall

11.00 am          Formal program begins

12.16 pm          End of first session; followed by snacks

01:00 pm          Second session begins (presentation of certificate folder)

Photographs:

Professional photographers will take photographs of the Certificate Giving Ceremony, and soft copies of your photographs will be uploaded on the Convocation website.

 Medical Booth:

There will be a Medical booth with Doctors, Nurses, and other Facilities. If you feel sick, please visit the medical booth.

Feeding Zone:

There will be a feeding and changing room.

 Gala Event:

Each graduate will receive one Gala Pass for the gala event.

 You must bring the Gala Pass with you. No one will be admitted without the invitation card.
